From the Classroom to the Community
With over 13 years of experience across K–12 private, public, and religious schools, Alicia Sowah is an educator, administrator, and advocate committed to transforming how students see themselves and their potential.
A proud alumna of Loyola Marymount University, Alicia holds a Master’s degree in Urban Education with a concentration in Leadership and Administration. Her career reflects a deep commitment to service—she has proudly served as a WASC Visiting Committee member, supporting schools through the accreditation process.
The "Why" Behind Rise
Before founding Rise in Confidence, Alicia spent five years as a Math Teacher, including two years dedicated to Special Education. It was during these classroom experiences—working alongside neurodiverse and underserved students—that she uncovered a powerful truth: academic struggles often stem not from a lack of ability, but from a lack of confidence and accessible learning methods.
Today, Alicia blends administrative leadership with evidence-based, multisensory pedagogy to create learning environments where students feel seen, heard, and empowered—both inside and beyond the classroom.
Supporting our heroes
I know the immense demands placed on educators, and part of my mission is to support teachers and specialists through professional development and manageable, inclusive pedagogies—without leading to burnout. We rise by lifting others.
